What is Data Racing?

Data Racing is a free browser-based 2D side-scroller racing game where the track terrain is generated from real time-series market data. Each candle in a TradingView-style OHLC chart becomes part of the racing surface — a pump becomes a ramp, a wick down becomes a pit, a sharp dump becomes a chasm.

Do I need to install anything to play?

No. Data Racing runs in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. The physics simulation uses Phaser 3 with Matter.js and streams in under two seconds on a fresh load. No download, no extension, no client.

Which markets can I race?

BTC, ETH, SOL, AVAX, LINK and ARB ship at launch as fully playable tracks. FX pairs, US equities (NYSE, NASDAQ), macro indices and on-chain feeds (Base, Ethereum) drop in subsequent releases. Each race uses a fixed historical window so leaderboards are deterministic across players.

Is Data Racing free to play?

Yes. The core game and every base track are free. Optional cosmetic bike skins and on-chain entry events are sold separately and never gate gameplay — you can complete the full ladder without spending.

How are tracks generated from charts?

OHLC bars from exchange-grade feeds are sampled, normalised to the playfield height, then smoothed with a Catmull-Rom spline so the bike has a continuous surface to ride. Wicks become hazards, large gaps become jumps, and high-volatility candles seed coin lines and boost zones.

When is the game launching?

Open beta is live on Base (L2) — just open the game in your browser and ride. No email, no signup, no install. New tracks, bikes, and garage releases roll out continuously.

Can I race against other players?

Each race posts a time to a per-track leaderboard, so asynchronous head-to-head is live from launch. Real-time 1v1 racing and weekly tournaments are on the roadmap for season 2.

Do I need a crypto wallet to play?

Yes — a wallet (MetaMask or any EVM-compatible wallet) is your single entry point to Data Racing. Every skin you earn and every point you score is sent there, on-chain, so it stays yours. Once you're in, you can link extra sign-in methods — Farcaster, Gmail, Telegram — to the same account for convenience, but the wallet is the root of your identity.
